Please join us on Thursday, January 25, 2024 for our upcoming event: “New Employment Laws Update 2024!”
Note! This is a LIVE IN PERSON ONLY EVENT! (Details and registration listed below!)
2024 brings a host of new employment laws that will impact your business and require changes in policies and practices in order to remain compliant. Erick Becker, head of the Labor and Employment practice at Cummins and White, is our event guest speaker. He will review the details of new California laws and offer practical advice on compliance.
Topics will include:
- Increase in mandated paid sick leave to five days and implementation for both accrual and lump sum sick leave programs
- Requirement to institute a workplace violence prevention plan and requirements for added training
- New right to engage in off duty marijuana use and restrictions on pre and post employment testing for cannabis
- Additional protections for employees raising wage complaints
- Leave rights for “reproductive loss”
- Restrictions on rules and policies that might “chill” employee rights under the National Labor Relations Act
- Important court decisions on the horizon that require action now for compliance
In addition to reviewing these new laws, there will be a question and answer session on employment related topics.
